The Humanist Manifesto II

(watch for the New Age, Politically Correct "buzz-words" you have heard so much the past several years!)

Preface

  • A prayer-hearing God, assumed to live and care for persons, to hear and understand their prayers, and to be able to do something about them, is an unproved and outmoded faith.

  • humanism offers an alternative

  • The next century can be and should be the humanistic century

  • Using technology, we can control our environment, conquer poverty, markedly reduce disease, extend our life-span, significantly modify our behavior, alter the course of human evolution and cultural development, unlock vast new powers

  • Traditional moral codes fail to meet the pressing needs of today and tomorrow.

  • Humanity, to survive, requires bold and daring measures.

  • extend the uses of scientific method,  to build constructive social and moral values.

  • Only a shared world and global measures will suffice.

  • Humanism is an ethical process through which we all can move, above and beyond the divisive particulars, heroic personalities, dogmatic creeds, and ritual customs of past religions or their mere negation. (how is humanism an "ethical process? according to ANY OF THE POSITIVE DEFINITIONS?

  • basis for united action -- positive principles relevant to the present human condition. They are a design for a secular society on a planetary scale.

Religion

  • begin with humans not God, nature not deity

  • reject traditional religious morality

  • no divine purpose or providence for the human species

  • No deity will save us; we must save ourselves.

Ethics

  • Ethics is autonomous and situational needing no theological or ideological sanction. (This STILL isn't what the DICTIONARY says- after 30 years!)

  • Ethics stems from human need and interest.

  • We strive for the good life, here and now.

The Individual

  • intolerant attitudes, often cultivated by orthodox religions and puritanical cultures, unduly repress sexual conduct.

  • The right to birth control, abortion, and divorce should be recognized.

  • civilized society should be a tolerant one

  • individuals should be permitted to express their sexual proclivities and pursue their life-styles as they desire.

  • Moral education for children and adults is an important way of developing awareness and sexual maturity.

Democratic Society
(Remember, the USA is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, NOT a DEMOCRACY)

  • individual's right to die with dignity, euthanasia, and the right to suicide.

  • committed to an open and democratic society.

  • must extend participatory democracy in its true sense to the economy, the school, the family,(and it's TRUE SENSE is defined above in the COMMUNIST MANIFESTO).

  • Alienating forces should be modified or eradicated (so much for "tolerance", huh?  They say- "We hate hate")

  • separation of church and state and the separation of ideology and state are imperatives (and WHAT IS secular humanism if it IS NOT ideology, and are they NOT seeking to CONTROL THE STATE?)

  • alternative economic systems. (such as Communism? or would that be National Socialism? not many other choices out there for economic systems!)

  • democratize the economy (defined above in the COMMUNIST MANIFESTO).

  • minimum guaranteed annual income. (another communist doctrine)

  • concerned for the welfare of the aged, the infirm, the disadvantaged, and also for the outcasts -- the mentally retarded, abandoned, or abused children, the handicapped, prisoners, and addicts (like Clinton and the Democrats "concern". Like fleas care about dogs).

  • universal education. (a communist doctrine)

  • Innovative and experimental forms of education are to be welcomed. (social and mental hygiene)

  • energy and idealism of the young should be channeled to constructive purposes (more social and mental hygiene to INDOCTRINATE the young to be World Citizens)

World Community

  • deplore racial, religious, ethnic, or class antagonisms. (while inciting them and capitalizing on them for their purposes.  See Democrats above)

  • we believe in cultural diversity and encourage racial and ethnic pride (not sovereign American pride)

  • we envision an integrated community

  • critical of sexism or sexual chauvinism (If you clicked on this link, you might have noticed that the definitions also include "Excessive or fanatical patriotism".  See? Words DO MEAN SOMETHING)

  • deplore the division of humankind on nationalistic grounds.  (and that means what you think it means- One World Government- completely clarified below)

  • transcend the limits of national sovereignty and to move toward the building of a world community in which all sectors of the human family can participate.

  • a system of world law and a world order based upon transnational federal government.

  • appreciate cultural pluralism and diversity.

  • no part of humankind can be isolated from any other. Each person's future is in some way linked to all. (exactly how doesn't need explanation- it just IS, "somehow")

  • commitment to the building of world community, at the same time recognizing that this commits us to some hard choices. (Trading a NOBLE BIRTHRIGHT for a watery bowl of soup FOR NO REASON is a "hard choice"! What about those of us who CHOOSE to oppose it? Are we the "alienating forces that should be modified or eradicated"?  Obviously so.  I guess that's why they need social and mental hygiene and euthanasia). What about those of us who CHOOSE to oppose it? Are we the "alienating forces that should be modified or eradicated"?  Obviously so.  I guess that's why they need social and mental hygiene and euthanasia). social and mental hygiene and euthanasia).

  • This world community must renounce the resort to violence and force as a method of solving international disputes. (I guess Osama Bin Laden blew this plan out of the water, huh?  They don't know HOW TO HANDLE a movement that wants to kill everybody but their own group that agrees with THEM.  Oh- THAT IS what Secular Humanism and One World Government wants to do anyway, isn't it?)

  • peaceful adjudication of differences by international courts and by the development of the arts of negotiation and compromise. (and they all lived happily ever after)

  • War is obsolete. So is the use of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons.

  • It is a planetary imperative to reduce the level of military expenditures and turn these savings to peaceful and people-oriented uses. (no, far from obsolete, POWER COMES OUT OF THE BARREL OF A GUN, and they know it.  It's just "peace" if THEY HAVE THE GUNS- see?)

  • The world community must engage in cooperative planning concerning the use of rapidly depleting resources. (because they have LOCKED THEM ALL UP and won't allow looking for more)

  • The planet earth must be considered a single ecosystem. Ecological damage, resource depletion, and excessive population growth must be checked by international concord.

  • The cultivation and conservation of nature is a moral value; we should perceive ourselves as integral to the sources of our being in nature. (who defined THIS as a "moral value"?  just because THEY SAY SO?)

  • free our world from needless pollution and waste, responsibly guarding and creating wealth, both natural and human. (STOP America from building wealth and reduce us to the world poverty level)

  • Exploitation of natural resources, uncurbed by social conscience, must end. (uncurbed SOCIALISM must end)

  • economic growth and development worldwide in scope.

  • moral obligation of the developed nations to provide assistance, including birth control techniques, to the developing portions of the globe. (so abortion is a GOOD moral value)

  • World poverty must cease. Hence extreme disproportions in wealth, income, and economic growth should be reduced on a worldwide basis. (that's why America must be morally and financially bankrupted to BRING US DOWN to "world class standards)

  • resist any moves to censor basic scientific research on moral, political, or social grounds. (whose "moral", "political', or "social" grounds?)

Humanity As a Whole

  • parochial loyalties and inflexible moral and religious ideologies transcended

  • shared humane values

  • commitment to tolerance (NOTE- Obviously does not mean tolerance for those of us who have "parochial loyalties and inflexible moral and religious ideologies")

  • transcends the narrow allegiances of church, state, party, class, or race in moving toward a wider vision of human potentiality (See what I told just you?  How do you have a "wider vision of human potentiality" with us Old Fashioned Patriotic "proud to be American" Flag Waving Christians around?  NOW- DOES THE INSANE GARBAGE YOU SEE ON TV NEWS MAKE MORE SENSE?)

What more daring a goal for humankind than for each person to become, in ideal as well as practice, a citizen of a world community?

Oh, I dunno- maybe I would rather be a free, sovereign citizen in a sovereign country where I have UNALIENABLE rights endowed by the CREATOR and have the RIGHT to thumb my nose at these pin-heads and their pathetic "Politically Correct" garbage.  And perhaps I have read Revelation and I don't really want anything to do with being ON THE WRONG SIDE of how THAT WORKS OUT.

What these people want us to GIVE UP and EXCHANGE FOR A WORLD GOVERNMENT is UNBELIEVABLE!  How UNGODLY STUPID that would be!
